The monster I've created..

So TJ is not a good nap taker. We usually have to hold him in order for him to fall asleep.. and stay asleep. This morning, I tried swaddling him, nursing him, and then putting him down. He woke up 3 min later. I comforted him, got him back to sleep, and he woke up again. This time, I told myself I was going to let him "cry it out". It lasted 10 minutes before I went in there & he had worked himself up so much that we was saturated in sweat from head to toe! So, I got him up, comforted him & we took a nap together in my bed.

This afternoon, I tried to put him on his tummy. He woke up right away. I don't think he's figured out to turn his head.. he puts it right into the mattress. SO, I comforted him, laid next to him in our bed & was able to sneak away once he fell asleep. It's been 1/2 an hour.

Up until this point, I've read that until 3 months, we should let the baby dictate their schedule (sleep/eat/etc). I am glad that I've done that and think I have a pretty happy baby thus far. However, now that he's 3 months, I have visions of him sleeping by himself so that I can shower/dress/etc in the morning rather than running around trying to get it done as fast as I can. I'm sure all of you moms out there can relate. AND I've read that any habits you don't want to "stick" need to be broken now, too.

So, I'm asking for advice. If you have thoughts on how to break the swaddle habit, that would be great, too. Right now he is napping on his side & that seems to work pretty well. I'm not sure that it would work at night when I want him to sleep for 5+ hours like he has been... but I suppose it's worth a shot :) He's pretty much been "breaking out" every time he wakes up.

Desperately waiting... : )

Oh how time flies!!

I continue to have issues uploading my pictures so I guess I'm going to have to be a little more selective :). We have really enjoyed that past 3 months as parents. It's hard to believe that it's been 12 weeks, 6 days. Time sure does fly when you're having fun! Here are a few pictures to catch you up to speed...

I definitely enjoy my baths better now that I am in the big boy tub. There is something about being in the water rather than just having a wash cloth over your body that brings a smile to your face. Mom agrees.
For my 12 week birthday, daddy cut a piece of cake from my baptism & put a candle in it. I think he's a pretty neat guy. Who else would let their 12 week old have their cake & eat it, too?
Uncle Tin took me & mom to my first baseball game. It was the Creighton vs Nebraska game. We left after the 3rd inning. Creighton got a spank'n.
I've learned how useful these things called "hands" are, too.
I LOVE my Bumbo. The world is much more interesting from this view. Thanks, Melanie for my giraffe. It's the perfect height!
Mom's good friend Rachel & Dusan had a baby. Her name is Anya. She's beautiful. I wore this shirt over to see her, but she slept the entire time. I hear that there are a lot of guys in the running.. this shirt says it all.. I'm confident I'll win her affections.
I've become 2 months old...
And now 3 months old!!
My first night in my crib at 6 weeks.
Taken tonight at 3 months.

This is life so far. I know you're jealous.

The last few weeks...

Blogger is giving me grief trying to upload photos so I will upload more when I have more patience. Here are the few that I was able to upload...

I've found my hands!
I LOVE my strawberry hat that Jessica made me!
AND the swing that Aunt Thuy let me borrow. I snooze so well in it!
Look at me in my Bumbo! I've mastered some head control!
I can kick my way around my playgym to get to where I want to go! Watch out world...
